Pro-rated pay from time-clock data
Import Fingertec attendance. Daily-paid and seasonal categories reduce allowances pro-rata automatically, and contracts expire on their own dates.
Gravitus runs HR, multi-country payroll, overtime, leave, procurement, stores and fuel control for employers with large permanent, seasonal and daily-paid workforces. It was built on farms, plantations and mines, not in a boardroom.

Gravitus Africa for ERP & Payroll Software Solutions
Most payroll systems are built for a few hundred people on fixed monthly salaries. Gravitus is built for large, mixed workforces spread across sites and countries, where errors are expensive.
Import Fingertec attendance. Daily-paid and seasonal categories reduce allowances pro-rata automatically, and contracts expire on their own dates.
Changes over 10%, master-vs-actual mismatches and missing payslips are flagged in red. Payroll can't be submitted until each one is resolved.
Each company keeps its own currency, timezone, tax tables, social-security scheme, hierarchies and bank formats and head office can work across all of them.
Leave, overtime, fuel and purchase orders go up configurable chains of command. Each approver gets a one-click link, and every decision is logged.
Operators identify with a PIN on a shared tablet. Fuel requests outside the vehicle's normal consumption go to their manager automatically.
Stores issues and fuel are tied to activity codes, vehicles and employees, so you know what each operation really costs.
Choose a module to see what it does. Every module shares one employee record, one set of approval hierarchies and one audit trail.
Set the pay day, time-clock cutoff and working days for each company.
Import attendance, commit approved overtime, post unpaid leave and bulk allowances.
Copy each payroll master into the month. Variance checks flag anything unusual.
Submit, then let your payroll sign-off hierarchy review and approve. The month locks.
Payslips, bank and mobile-money files, PAYE and social-security returns, cost-centre reports.
| Country | Income tax | Social security & levies | Outputs |
|---|---|---|---|
| South Africa | SARS annual tables with primary, secondary & tertiary rebates | UIF (employee + employer), union dues | PAYE report, bank files, payslips |
| Ghana | GRA graduated monthly bands, overtime & bonus tax | SSNIT 5.5%, SSNIT loan recovery, union | PAYE (Ghana format), SSNIT report & export |
| Sierra Leone | NRA monthly bands (0 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30%) | NASSIT 5% employee, WHT for contractors | PAYE, NASSIT and WHT reports & exports |
| Next | Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Liberia are planned and prioritised by customer demand. Tax brackets, rebates and contribution rates are tables you control, so new rates can be loaded without code changes. | ||
End-of-service benefits (resignation, redundancy, retirement, death) are calculated from your own service-band rules, and the liability report shows your exposure at any date.
Volume bands apply like tax brackets, so there is no price jump at the edges. Seasonal workers are only billed in the months you pay them. Prices in USD per employee per month; local-currency billing available.
| Employees in band | Per employee / month |
|---|---|
| First 250 | $2.50 |
| 251 – 1,000 | $1.80 |
| 1,001 – 5,000 | $1.20 |
| 5,001 + | $0.80 |
| Monthly minimum | $150 |
Employers from about 100 to 10,000+ people, especially in agriculture, forestry, mining, construction, security and manufacturing, where the workforce mixes permanent staff, expats, daily-paid general workers, seasonal labour and subcontractors.
Yes. Gravitus runs in a web browser on PCs, tablets and phones. We host it for you, or for organisations with data-residency rules we can install it on a private server in your country.
Very little. Approvals arrive as emails with one-click Approve and Decline links. Each module has a built-in help page you can edit to match your own procedures.
Yes. Supervisors can capture leave and overtime for their teams, and shared kiosks at the stores or fuel bowser use a personal PIN instead of a password. Mobile-friendly payslips are on the roadmap.
South Africa, Ghana and Sierra Leone today, with PAYE and social-security reports for each. Further packs are added based on customer demand. Because tax bands, rebates and contribution rates are configuration tables, rate changes don't need new software.
Yes. Each company has its own currency, timezone, tax tables, categories, hierarchies and bank formats. Authorised users switch between companies with one login.
Each employee category has a pay frequency. For daily-paid categories, Gravitus uses days worked (imported from your Fingertec or other time clock) to pro-rate basic pay and any allowance marked as reducible. Seasonal contracts carry expiry dates, and warnings show contracts about to end.
Before submission, every employee category and every earning or deduction type is compared with last month and with each employee's payroll master. Changes over 10% show in red, mismatches show as orange or red ticks, and payroll can't be submitted while warnings remain. Salary changes also need approval from a separate signing chain.
As many as you need. Each type is an allowance, a deduction or a count, with flags for taxable and pro-rata, a payslip order, and default amounts, per-day rates or percentages. Typical setups include basic salary, overtime, housing, transport, food and attendance allowances, bonuses, loans, union dues, PPE recoveries, PAYE and social security.
Managers raise an overtime request with the hours they need. It is approved by line and senior managers, and supervisors log hours worked per day. Weekday and Saturday hours are paid at 1.5× and Sunday and public-holiday hours at 2×, using your own public-holiday calendar. HR commits the approved hours to payroll.
Gravitus produces per-bank payment lists today and supports cash and cheque payment methods. Mobile-money payout files (M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Orange Money) are on the roadmap.
Yes. You define end-of-service types (resignation, redundancy, termination, retirement, death, dismissal) and the days payable per year of service in each band. Gravitus shows each employee's projection and the company's total liability.
Each vehicle category has an expected consumption in km per litre or litres per hour. When an operator requests fuel, Gravitus compares the km or hours since the last fill with the litres requested. Requests within the norm go to the fuel attendant. Anything outside it goes to the operator's manager, who records a consultation and approves, declines or escalates it.
A PO captures the supplier, items, terms and up to two alternative quotes. It then moves up your procurement chain (department manager, procurement, finance, GM, CEO, chairman) until it reaches someone whose approval limit covers the value. Each approver gets an email.
Yes. Locations nest from company to site, store and shelf. Goods received, stores issues, transfers and adjustments are all recorded, and every issue can be coded to an activity, vehicle and employee.
Gravitus maps payroll and stock to your chart of accounts so you can export journals to your accounting package. A full general ledger isn't included; most customers keep their existing accounting system.
Access is granted per module and per user, at operator or admin level, and salary-change approvals are split by employee level (general, up to HOD, expats). Every page a user opens is logged, and every change to an employee record is kept in a change log with the user and time.
In our managed cloud, with nightly encrypted backups, or on your own server if your regulator or policy requires it. We sign a data-processing agreement covering POPIA, the Ghana Data Protection Act and other applicable laws.
Yes. Employee lists, payroll reports and transactions export to Excel/CSV at any time, and a full database export is available if you leave.
Anyone you pay in that month. Employees paid for fewer than 10 days in the month count as half. Seasonal staff cost nothing in months they aren't paid, and admin and manager logins are free.
A single-country company with up to 500 employees is usually live in 3–4 weeks: set-up, import of employees and salaries from a template, one parallel payroll run, and training. Multi-country groups take longer and are planned with you.
We offer a guided demo and a 30-day trial company. A free version for very small teams is planned.
Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. Annual prepayment saves 10%, and three-year terms save 15%.
Tell us how many people you pay, in which countries and how often, and we'll set up a demo company that looks like yours.
